From Oklahoma to Virginia
What started as a major life change became the beginning of a new creative journey in the Virginia mountains. After a tornado destroyed her home in Oklahoma City, Sonja Wall and her husband relocated to Covington, Virginia, where she began experimenting with herbs and spices while adapting to a new lifestyle and way of cooking. In 2022, her father, David Stricklin, retired after four decades as a school bus mechanic and joined the family in Virginia, helping turn homemade seasoning experiments into a growing family business. Today, What the Spice!?! continues sharing handcrafted spice blends and popcorn seasonings made with creativity, honesty, and the goal of bringing more flavor into people’s homes.
